Surge Suppression

To ensure 99.999% service availability and to prolong the service life of mission-critical equipment, facilities must be equipped to safely dissipate damaging levels of transient surge energy. A complete lightning protection system requires strike termination devices, surge protection devices (SPDs), and grounding electrodes, as well as their required interconnecting conductors, connectors, and fittings.

UL 96A recommends installing UL-listed surge protection devices at each electrical service entrance per NEC Article 285 (ANSI/NFPA 70).
